GEMCO is one of the world's largest manganese mining and concentrating operations located on Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, accounting for over 20% of the worlds' manganese ore production. GEMCO controls and operates all aspects of mining, processing, logistics and shipping on Groote Eylandt.
Reporting to the Mine Services Supervisor, we are seeking a suitably qualified Arborist with a passion for mentoring a group of local Indigenous employees to reach their full potential whilst safely and efficiently planning and executing GEMCO’s Tree Risk Management program and other Mine Services activities. The team is well resourced with an 18-inch Vermeer chipper and side tipping mulch truck, Monitor 22.10 EVO Spider EWP, bobcat, backhoe, stump grinder and standalone workshop.
This full time role is offered on a residential basis working a 9 day fortnight (every second Friday off) roster pattern. An attractive salary, subsidised rent, supermarket discount, travel assistance, 5 weeks annual leave, access to additional employee paid super and other benefits are included.
