This Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) project is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government. Disadvantaged jobseekers and underutilised Queensland workers are able to access assistance under SQW. This traineeship is an entry-level role aimed at individuals interested in work in the conservation and land management industry. It allows individuals to develop skills and knowledge to prepare for work.
Trainees meet at Workways Office at West End, Aitkenvale or Thuringowa Central and transported to work sites at James Cook University (JCU) and surrounds. Work activities include native plant propagation, tree planting, bush regeneration and walking track construction and maintenance.
