Native Habitat provides best practice specialised services within environmental management, restoration and consultancy throughout the East Melbourne / West Gippsland region and surrounds. Primarily delivering works for government organisations such as DELWP, Parks Victoria, Melbourne Water, local councils (Cardinia / Baw Baw) and Landcare Australia.

We are a team of environmental professionals providing sensitive weed control and revegetation services. We pride ourselves on our passion, work ethic and proven high-quality outcomes.

Employment Opportunity:

Native Habitat is looking to employ experienced team members with a strong passion for the natural environment and its conservation.  

As a field officer your duties will include:

  • Working as part of a team to complete daily work schedules
  • Weed control using various measures and methodology
  • Bushland revegetation and natural area restoration
  • Weed data collection


  • Tertiary TAFE / University with a minimum of Certificate 3 in Conservation and Land Management or relevant field experience within the industry
  • Current driver’s license & own vehicle
  • Agricultural chemical uses permit (ACUP)
  • Construction Induction Card (Red/White Card)
  • First Aid (Level 2)

Desirable Experience:

  • Sound knowledge of indigenous plant ID and introduced weed ID
  • Experience in weed control methods including hand weeding, cut’n’paint & drill’n’fill etc
  • Experience in weed control methods utilising knapsacks and rig spraying
  • Experience with revegetation
  • Experience using plant such as Brush cutters, Chainsaws and Chippers
