The Northern Territory Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is looking for two suitably qualified and experienced people to work within the Rangeland Monitoring Branch as Rangeland Monitoring Officers.

These positions are permanent, full time positions with one located in Alice Springs and one in Katherine. The positions provide frontline monitoring and extension services to pastoralists and the Pastoral Land Board in assessing land condition of the pastoral estate, in accordance with the Pastoral Land Act 1992. 

The successful applicants will have knowledge of land resource and/or vegetation assessment and landscape processes. They will have experience in the use of GPS and a range of computer systems including GIS. They will have the ability to prepare quality technical reports and have effective communication skills. They will also have the ability and willingness to undertake field work, in a small team environment, and work safely and effectively in remote localities for extended periods of time.
