The Role

In this ongoing role as Senior Asset Manager – Form and Connectivity, you’ll be responsible for leading the continued delivery of Melbourne Waters waterway asset management approach with a focus on best practice management of the form and habitat (geomorphology) and connectivity (fish passage) of our regions waterways.

You will be responsible for developing forward programs of work and constituent projects that will deliver on ground outcomes of improved waterway form and habitat and passage for native fish species in accordance with priorities in the regions Healthy Waterways Strategy (2018-28).

You will develop plans for and oversee the roll out of capital and operational investment in constructing (new) and maintaining (existing) waterway structures (assets) that have been designed to manage the form, habitat and fish passage of our regions waterways.

You will also enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of people across the business and waterway management industry in the role.

Your Skills and Experience

  • With experience in waterway management, ideally with a focus on form and habitat (geomorphology) and connectivity (fish passage) you will have demonstrated ability in applying your relevant technical knowledge and skills.
  • With great communication and interpersonal skills you will have demonstrated ability in working influentially and collaboratively with others across the business to develop and coordinate the roll-out of programs of work and to initiate and manage investigations and works projects.
  • With great time management and problem solving skills you will have demonstrated ability in being well-organized and working autonomously to plan, prioritise and deliver your work schedule and tasks.
  • With experience in using sound judgement and analytical skills to make decisions you will have demonstrated ability in managing complex assignments

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a Tertiary qualification in Ecology/Biological Sciences/Natural Resource Management, engineering or related technical discipline.
