About the Opportunity

On a typical day our Environmental Project Officer - Contracts will:

  • Undertake contract management including writing briefs and procuring contractors
  • Carry out site visits to monitor contract work
  • Meet on site with volunteer groups to provide guidance and advice on how to meet ecological goals

Remuneration

This is a full time, permanent role, with a starting salary of $62,525 per annum, plus 9.5% superannuation.  The role is 35 hour a week, with access to Council’s Flexible Working Hours policy. A tool of trade vehicle is available to the successful candidate.

About Council's Natural Resources Team

The Natural Resources Team provides technical services to the community in regards to management of the natural environment extending from hinterland to the coastline in the Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area. We do so through the provision of invasive weed management, ecological restoration, bushfire risk mitigation and hazard management works, ecological advice on internal and external development applications and coast, estuary and flood management. Works include on-ground improvements and also policy and planning projects. The team works with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve the goals as set by the community.
