About the Opportunity

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our Community.  To help us achieve this we require a technical expert in either the field of ecology or environmental planning who will assist, support, coach and coordinate the Ecologist, Environmental Planner and Environmental Audit Officer at PMHC. On a typical day our Strategic Environmental Projects Coordinator will:

  • Liaise with external and internal customers including community and State Government representatives;
  • Undertaking site inspections for compliance with REF mitigation measures, conditions of DA’s, biosecurity undertakings and bushfire hazard management works;
  • Undertake an assessment of REF’s associated with internal infrastructure projects
  • Review of ecological and bushfire reports associated development applications and strategic land use planning applications;
  • Approve budget expenditure;
  • Mett with your team members to talk through projects, offer support or provide guidance.

This is a full time, permanent role, with remuneration in the range of $89,742 - $95,207 per annum (depending on skills and experience), plus 9.5% superannuation.  The role is 35 hour a week, with access to Council’s Flexible Working Hours policy. A vehicle option is available to the successful candidate. 

About Councils Natural Resources Team

The Natural Resources Team provides technical services to the community in regards to management of the natural environment extending from hinterland to the coastline in the Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area. We do so through the provision of invasive weed management, ecological restoration, bushfire risk mitigation and hazard management works, ecological advice on internal and external development applications and coast, estuary and flood management. Works include on-ground improvements and also policy and planning projects. The team works with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve the goals as set by the community.
