Located in the Northern Rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.
To conduct targeted weed control and surveillance works on public and private lands in accordance with Council’s Delivery and Operational Plans.
Qualifications and experience
This role requires demonstrated experience in the identification, surveillance and treatment of weeds at an appropriate level of expertise together with knowledge and experience in the application of herbicides.
Demonstrated ability to use GIS/GPS devices in field situations or the ability to learn new systems together with computer literacy in the Microsoft suite of products are essential for this role.
The successful applicant will be able to work cooperatively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision and have an understanding of roles and responsibilities under the WHS Act 2011
You must also be committed to promoting Council’s Values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability and Respect.
Conditions of employment
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2020. Salary range $53,393 - $62,452 per annum based on skills and experience plus statutory superannuation (9.5%) and generous working conditions including a 76 hour, nine-day fortnight. A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
