We are seeking expressions of interest from local ecologists to join our NSW panel of Ecologists.

We are creating a pool of ecologists, experienced in their local flora and fauna, based anywhere in NSW to undertake Biodiversity Assessments in multiple locations across the state.  
You will be assisting landholders to create biodiversity stewardship agreements on their properties. We have already engaged a number of local landholders and now need the field work to support delivery.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany, Zoology or another relevant discipline.
  • Strong flora or fauna identification skills, ideally a combination of both!
  • Practical experience of 3-5 years undertaking field-based surveys, data analysis and reporting, preferably in a consulting capacity.

Skills and Knowledge, you’ll bring to our projects:

  • Ideally a strong understanding Biodiversity Assessment Methodology survey guidelines
  • Must have own smart phone / tablet to collect field data
  • Know and understand GIS for data collection and mapping purposes
  • First aid certificate highly desirable
  • Extensive experience undertaking ecological survey in your local communities of NSW.
  • Experience in preparing ecological reports would be beneficial
  • Working knowledge of relevant NSW environmental legislation is highly desirable
  • Current insurances for Public liability ($10m) and for Professional indemnity ($1m)
