Springsure, Central West Queensland

Salary etc:

$59,614 - $65,223 p.a.

Job Ad Reference QLD/351432/20

This role’s focus area is contributing towards achieving the department’s Key Values Management Framework objectives across a geographically dispersed estate portfolio. Due to the remoteness of many of the parks and forests managed by this position, a high degree of autonomy is required to resolve a wide variety of emerging and reactive tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Boundary stock fence repair and maintenance, including the construction of stock proof fencing around artesian springs not accessible by vehicle.
  • Develop and implement the annual weed management program, including maintaining budgets, chemical inventory, storage and reporting databases.

This role will be required to undertake extensive manual handling of materials, water, fuel supplies, generators and pumps over uneven ground which is a frequent requirement when setting up field camps.  Due to remote travel requirements, field operations are continued even throughout periods of extreme climatic conditions.  This position requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to live and work for extended periods in close proximity with work colleagues.
