Salary range $83,152 - $92,020 per annum (PO2)

  • Up to 5 year contract to 30.6.25, subject to annual funding
  • Landscape SA will support local communities and land managers
  • Focus is on managing and mitigating the risks caused by feral deer.

The Project Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating projects and programs that manage and mitigate the risks to the economic, environmental and community  values caused by feral deer within the Limestone Coast Landscape Board Region.

This position plays a key role in engaging a wide range of external stakeholders and requires  excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A Degree in Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Biodiversity Management or related field  is essential.

Special Conditions

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties
  • A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4WD is essential.
  • Intrastate and remote area travel is required, including travel in light aircraft, and work outside of normal hours of duty is required, necessitating occasional overnight stays.
  • Will be required to complete Vertebrate Pest Control Certificate (or equivalent), Natural Resource Management Investigation and Enforcement course (or equivalent), Certification to handle and supply 1080 (min level 2) and maintain currency in these accreditations.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC) and to the Board requiring you to obtain an NPC.
