Part-time (3 days per week). $88k to $96k per annum (pro rata) + Superannuation



At the City of Stonnington, we have an opportunity available to join the Open Space and Environment Department for a 3 year period on a part time basis for 3 days per week (22.8 hours), located at the Depot (and working from home).

As a Sustainable Environment Officer focusing on water, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of Council’s integrated water management strategic objectives and actions from the Sustainable Environment Strategy 2018 -2023 including:

  • Engaging and supporting internal teams to integrate integrated water management (IWM) and water sensitive urban design (WSUD) into city-scape, urban design and infrastructure projects
  • Partnering with external stakeholders to design and deliver IWM and WSUD projects
  • Providing advice relating to WSUD and IWM including delivering up-to-date knowledge of environmental best practice, new innovations and environmental tools to enable Council to achieve its environmental objectives.

In this position you’ll also have some freedom to exercise your creativity and initiative in identifying opportunities to develop and implement environmental programs to assist Council in achieving its strategic objectives for stormwater management, water conservation, water reuse and improving water quality.

We’re looking for a candidate with substantial experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of integrated water management and water sensitive urban design projects with extensive knowledge and appreciation of integrated water management strategies and practices and water sensitive urban design principles. Strong project and contract management skills will also be required. A tertiary qualification in sustainability, environmental management, integrated water management, natural resource management or other related discipline is desirable.
