Community Support Officer

Casual position - 18 hours / week
Duration: Approx 6 months (till end of Dec, 2020), with possibility of extension
Remuneration: $31-$34 /hr, (depending on skills and experience), plus superannuation
Location: Central Coast local government area, Ourimbah-based
Supervision: The position is under the direction of CEN’s CEO.
The Community Environment Network (CEN) is an alliance of individuals, community and environmental organisations that work for ecologically sustainable development and against threats to it. CEN is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation and is not aligned with any political party.
CEN’s activities include advocacy, education, community engagement, delivering on-ground works, supporting member organisations and monitoring the environment. (See Aims and Objectives below).
We currently require a Community Support Officer to assist in responding to key issues and advocacy on matters that contribute to achieving ecologically sustainable development.
The position will work with our CEO and Executive members, volunteers and experts to craft CEN’s response and position on relevant matters, prepare submissions and implement strategies to raise awareness and build support for change.
The position will work under the direction of the CEO to craft and coordinate CEN’s response on issues relevant to the objectives of the organisation. This may include activities as follows:
