About the Company

Felton Grimwade & Bosisto’s Pty Ltd (FGB) is a growing Australian-owned company which manufactures and markets a range of safe, natural and effective products sold nationally through pharmacy and supermarket channels.

Under the Bosisto’s brand (first in eucalyptus since 1852), FGB produces Eucalyptus Oil in the Inglewood-Wedderburn region and has done so continuously since the early 1900s. Due to high demand, FGB has been expanding its’ operations in recent years and currently manages blue mallee eucalypt plantations and state forests licenses across an area exceeding 3,500 hectares. The Company’s two distilleries and associated farm machinery support a large-scale agricultural operation.

FGB is seeking a high calibre professional to take over the day-to-day management of the farm, plantation and research and development activities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing and overseeing broad acre farming or forestry, including people, assets, equipment and land.

Job Description

The Farm Manager will report to the CEO (Melbourne based) and be directly responsible for the management of the Company’s farm, plantation and research and development activities and personnel. Your primary focus is to ensure all aspects of operations are performed in line with agreed business plans and OH&S standards. 

This position involves oversight across distillery operations, plantation establishment, seed orchard assets and property maintenance, working closely with FGB staff and local contractors. It includes maintaining farm operations in good condition, managing and reporting on production yields and managing operating and capital expenses in line with approved budgets.

You will oversee and manage key farm related projects, including supervising and directing FGB staff and contractors, as well as being a key point of contact for external relationships with key stakeholders including the Loddon Shire, local farmers and research partners.

As a leader of the Company’s the farm operations, you are expected to lead, develop and mentor the Farm operations team and help them achieve key deliverables and safety standards, as well as continually refine business process to drive efficiencies and improve productivity.

The Successful Applicant

FGB are looking for a Farm Manager with significant experience in broad-acre farm or with forestry experience. Tertiary level qualifications in agriculture or related are mandatory. Strong OH&S experience is important in this role as is management of expense budgets, project delivery and reporting experience. The role will involve a high level of stakeholder management across multiple people and organisations, so a proven track record of experience at this level is necessary. Leadership skills are essential to drive and support the Farm operations team.  We are seeking a hard working self-starter who is looking for a growth opportunity.
