We are a not-for-profit organisation providing environmental services including project management for revegetation and bush restoration projects.

Established in 1983, our services extend across the New England North West of NSW.

Role

We are seeking a fit and reliable person who can lead a crew of up to five tree planters. They will also be able to work individually and in an autonomous manner.

The Field Officer will be responsible for working alongside the crew while providing supervision, direction, and job planning. They will also be responsible for maintaining site records, working to site plans and liaising with clients.

The successful candidate will be undertaking revegetation projects, bush regeneration and weed management in the New England- North West region. Working away for periods of up to a week at a time is a requirement for this role. You will be provided with a company work vehicle and fuel card.

The position is permanent part-time 4 days a week, with the expectation that up to five days a week will be worked in peak periods. 

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of NSW native plants and weed species
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Strong focus on quality control and forward planning

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a team leader in bush regen or outdoor related industries
  • AQF3 Chemical Handling certificate and experience in carrying out weed control
  • Current full NSW drivers’ licence and experience operating 4WD vehicles
  • Experience in operating small pumps, brush cutters, mowers, knapsacks and spray equipment
  • Be physically fit and able to undertake strenuous outdoor work
  • First Aid certificate and WHS white card
  • A commitment to further learning and professional development

Desirable

  • Cert III/Diploma or equivalent in environmental related discipline
  • Experience in heavy plant machinery (dingo loader, bobcat, tractor etc)
  • Chainsaw experience
