Forester - Plantation Management (Sandalwood)




Ord River Irrigation Area, Kununurra, Western Australia

Indian Sandalwood plantation company seeking a reliable and enthusiastic candidate to join the Forestry and Silviculture team.

The Forester will be directly involved in the silvicultural practices, inventory, nursery operations and plantation health monitoring within Santanol’s Indian Sandalwood plantations in the Ord River Irrigation Area, Kununurra, Western Australia.

The role will have a strong focus on communication between operations and research and is a key part of the Forestry team.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Actively support and participate in the annual inventory across the estate
  • Support the Company’s Research & Development Trials
  • Technical support for nursery operations
  • Pest, Disease & Plantation Health Monitoring
  • Assist with soil assessments
  • Compliance with OH&S systems, policies and procedures
  • Pruning Operations – participate and train staff
  • Assist with Fire Management
  • Reporting and associated administration in line with this role


The candidate will ideally have previous work history in either the forestry/agriculture/horticulture industry and have relevant tertiary qualifications.

Minimum C class drivers license

This is a permanent salaried position with an attractive remuneration package on offer including a housing allowance and vehicle.
