About the role:

The Haulage and Sales Coordinator will coordinate the log sales and haulage operations within the Bombala Management Area with a focus on achieving high levels of customer service, order fulfilment, maximising log transport safety, production and environmental performance.

The program will vary from liaising with customers on log supply requirements, contract management, sales analysis, developing monthly haulage schedules, initiating and implementing haulage safety initiatives, to hosting in field visits with customers.

With timber sales in excess of 0.5 million tonnes per annum, you will be working with a team of passionate forestry professionals to support supply to a number of large domestic and export customers. The incumbent will face the additional complexity of managing the delivery of significantly higher volumes arising from fire salvage operations across the balance of 2020 and into 2021.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate;

  • Strong leadership capabilities and experience in managing a team in a complex environment;
  • Demonstrated management experience across large scale forest operations, with a level of successful involvement in logistics planning and operational delivery;
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in an external customer facing role ideally within softwood plantation forestry.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate strategically coupled with the ability to analyse complex commercial and financial problems;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in natural resource management or logistics is not essential but ideal;
  • A current Driver’s license is essential.

Forestry Corporation employees contribute to fire preparedness and suppression activities. Responsibilities will include fire-standby as rostered and deployment as a fire-fighter or part of the incident management team. Fire duties will include weekend work and extended hours (e.g. firefighting nightshifts).
