Our team is made up of a diverse range of specialists allowing us to offer a wide range of services to our clients, including ecology, limnology, geochemistry, hydrology, geomorphology, hydrogeology and geology.

The C&R team work with clients through the entire lifecycle of their project, from conception to delivery as well as any ongoing environmental management. We work in all sectors including government, not-for profit organisations, mining, industrial, commercial and urban development.


We are seeking an experienced environmental practitioner with experience in hydrogeological investigations to join our Townsville based team on a full time 12 month contract (with the potential for a permanent position).

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to work autonomously and experienced in (or open to) working in remote locations for extended periods of time (generally <3 weeks). Applicants must meet the following requirements:


  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree (at a minimum) in a relevant field.
  • Have 2 to 5 years’ experience undertaking environmental work (specifically, but not limited to, hydrogeology investigations) within the Australian mining or development industries (preferably in Queensland).
  • Experience using high-flow and low-flow groundwater sampling methods.
  • Have a detailed understanding of environmental legislation and approvals processes.
  • Queensland manual driving licence (and experience driving long distances and/or off-road/4WD).
  • Have a high level of computer literacy in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to meet the requirements of a Generic Coal Board Medical (CMSHR 1).

Desirable skills and experience that will be highly regarded

  • Consultancy experience.
  • Mine compliance experience.
  • Environmental approvals experience.
  • Experience utilising a range of environmental sampling techniques with particular focus on groundwater quality and level monitoring.
  • GIS skills and experience (ArcGIS).
  • Experience using various statistical analysis and/or modelling software.
  • Any post-graduate certification in relevant scientific methods or supporting skills, such as Regional Ecosystems Assessor, Advanced 4WD and Defensive Driving certifications, etc.
  • Remote work experience.
  • Generic Coal Board Medical.
  • Standard 11 Coal Board Certification.
