Job Description:

Native Habitat is looking for enthusiastic bush crew members who are qualified with onsite experience.

This is a casual position (40 hours p/w) with the ability to move to permament. Award rates apply starting at $24.36, higher experience to be paid at higher award tiers. 

As a bush crew member your duties will include:

  • Working onsite as part of a team to complete daily work schedules.
  • Weed control using various measures including: Rig and knapsack herbicide application, woody weed control and removal, hand weeding, brush cutting and chain sawing.
  • Bushland revegetation and natural area restoration.

You will have:

Essential qualifications

  • Tertiary TAFE with a minimum of Certificate 3 in Conservation and Land Management or similar.
  • Current driver’s license & own vehicle
  • First Aid (Level 2)
  • Agricultural chemical uses permit (ACUP)
  • Construction Induction Card (Red/White Card)
  • Working with Children check

Experience

  • Sound knowledge of indigenous plant ID and introduced weed ID.
  • Experience in weed control methods including hand weeding, cut’n’paint & drill’n’fill.
  • Experience in weed control methods utilising knapsacks and rig spraying.
  • Experience in revegetation via planting & direct seeding.
  • Experience with plant such as Brush cutters, Chainsaws and Chippers

Highly desirable

  • Rig and Knapsack herbicde application experience
  • Chainsaw certification (Cruss cut and felling)
  • Reliability
  • Strong work ethic
  • Physically fit
  • Non smoker
