Base salary range: $70,685 - $82,597 p.a. + entitlements (Professional Officer PO2). Contract term: until 30 June 2021

This position is responsible for coordinating the Wagiman Ranger Group and for working with Aboriginal owners and managers to maximise their participation in land management activities, across the Wagiman and Upper Daly River Land Trust and Western Top End regions.

Applicants should possess a sound knowledge of Aboriginal Caring for Country management opportunities and constraints, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage work teams in remote locations. You will have experience working with Aboriginal communities in coordinating resource management projects, from planning through to implementation and reporting.

Good communication, negotiation and community consultation skills, with tertiary qualifications in natural resource management or a social science, community development, public policy or related discipline, and/or extensive relevant experience, are essential.

A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and issues, with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people is required, as is possession of a ‘C’ class driver’s licence and ability to safely drive 4WD vehicles.
