An exciting opportunity is available in the Conservation and Pest Management team at Toowoomba Regional Council.

About the role

The Supervisor Conservation Team supervises the Conservation and Firebreak Management teams to deliver day to day services associated with management of Council’s conservation reserves and/or delivery the Pest Management Plan.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

  • Demonstrated skills in managing conservation areas and the undertaking of a number of minor works within a total works program.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to plan and coordinate activities within a number of minor works.
  • Ability to exercise initiative in the application of established work procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of operational methods associated with the management of Conservation reserves including but not limited to the management of: visitors; pests; fire; revegetation.
  • Working knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to the management of conservation reserves.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with and ability to apply a range of computer based administrative and reporting tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising work teams of up to eight (8) people.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
