The CFC Regional Program Coordinator is responsible for providing natural resource management advice and support, including managing budgets, ensuring compliance of Ranger programs, Indigenous Protected Areas and National Park joint management, within the NLC Region. This includes advocacy, assisting with planning, implementation and reviews of Caring for Country work programs and activities, supporting Traditional Owners and relevant Aboriginal peoples’ priorities and aspirations.

The successful applicant will provide a high standard of analysis, reporting and advice to the NLC and facilitate consultations with relevant Traditional Owners, Aboriginal people and other stakeholders on matters relating to participation and control of land and sea management, training and employment, and sustainable environment and economic development.

Applicants should possess tertiary qualifications in natural and/or cultural resource management or related field, and/or relevant experience in community development planning working with Aboriginal people and managing issues within a remote context.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to lead and manage a small dispersed team and negotiate and liaise effectively with government agencies, commercial interests and Indigenous agencies and groups, are essential.

Significant travel to remote areas is involved so possession of a ‘C’ class driver’s licence and the ability to handle 4WD vehicles safely is required.
