Located on the Mornington Peninsula, our client is a medium-sized, highly popular camping and caravanning park. We are seeking a personal and hands-on Manager to coordinate the environmental, regulatory and business operations of this flourishing organisation.

Reporting into the Committee of Management and managing 3 full-time and several seasonal staff, you will have operational oversight whilst also being held responsible for driving the strategic initiatives of the committee. You will need to balance the organisation’s environmental commitment with the necessity to remain profitable and requires strong people and contract management, as well as a commercial acumen.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the day to day to management of all facets of the park,
  • Provide visible leadership to staff ensuring they are motivated and operate at high levels of both performance and efficiency,
  • Coordinate resources and activities to achieve the CoM’s goals and ensure compliance and business reporting requirements are met,
  • Lead and manage all strategic projects within time, budget and quality measures,
  • Financial management across all aspects of the organisation,
  • Ensure occupancy and revenue targets are met during peak and off-peak seasons,
  • Develop key external stakeholder relationships and internal working relationships with staff,
  • Remain aware of all grant and tender opportunities available and execute the relevant application process for those,
  • Monitor and authorise timesheets, payments and invoicing,
  • Monitor and process all camping applications,
  • Remain abreast of all legislative requirements,
  • Undertake site monitoring, site inspections and audits.

Our ideal candidate will have experience within leisure and tourism, particularly from a camping or caravanning environment.

You must be analytical, proactive and possess a profound ability to interact and relate to many different stakeholders, both spoken and written. Additionally, a strong financial acumen, proven ability in realising commercial goals of an organisation and the ability to manage people are all ‘must haves.’
