On the whole, we manage and build landscapes specialising in local native flora, from our two depots at North Melbourne (where this role is based) and Mornington.

We have extensive bushland management and construction knowledge, a sound and growing customer base (government, semi-government and private organisations) together with a growing team of over 60 people and a record of delivering quality service.

Purpose and scope

Reporting to the Melbourne Bushland Manager, the primary role of this position is to lead teams in implementation of bushland management and revegetation projects for our clients in the Northern Suburbs. The role will require some site starts with your own vehicle, other site starts with company vehicle.

The attributes required of the successful candidates lie in 4 key areas as follows:

  1. Core attributes
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in the Natural Resource Management Field
  • Basic project management experience
  • Effective communication with clients, management and staff
  • Ability to lead a team and participate in management planning
  • Experience in implementing Health, Safety and Environmental principles and practices
  • Physical suitability to hard labour
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Access.
  1. Bushland Management
  • A passion for indigenous plants
  • A genuine interest in sustainability and bushland management
  • Experience in the industry
  • Qualifications relevant to the industry are desirable
  • Knowledge of revegetation techniques and experience in the use of appropriate tools and equipment
  • A practical understanding of weed control techniques and herbicides
  • Knowledge of weed and indigenous plant species
  • Physical suitability to hard labour
  • Excellent weed and indigenous plant ID skills in a variety of Melbourne plants communities
  • Knowledge of weed control techniques and herbicides.

  1. Training and Licences
  • Essential - Current Manual Victorian Car Licence, 4WD experience and vehicle for site starts
  • Essential - ChemCert or equivalent
  • Essential - Senior First Aid (Level 2)
  • Essential - Chainsaw - Operate and Maintain Chainsaws
  • Essential - Construction Induction Card (Red/White Card)
  • Highly Desirable - Medium Rigid truck licence (Desirable)
  • Highly Desirable - Personal transport for site-start work
  • Highly Desirable - Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP).
